Palm Mar CaveLevel: 3 / Max depth: 35 Metres
Passing a wall where we will find brown and tiger morays hiding in the cracks, we make our way to some magnificent volcanic pinnacles, arriving at the Virgin del Carmen statue that was laid in 32m for the protection of the fishermen of the island. Across the sandy seabed you will see a carpet of garden eels, disappearing if you get too close. At 26 meters is the cave entrance with its sombre cross outside – a grim reminder that this cave is not suitable for penetration as the lava tubes at the rear form a maze of narrowing tunnels. However, the mouth of the cave has enough to keep you occupied as it is teeming with shrimp and we often see rays in the sandy seabed here. A deep divers favourite!
